Forty six guests turned out for our first fundraising evening, at Jade City Chinese restaurant, on Monday 31st March.
It was a bit of a squeeze, but we wanted to accomodate as many guests as possible, in order to raise as much money as we could for the charity.
Tickets were sold out a month before the event. In fact, we probably could have had at least 10 more guests, but simply did not have the space. We need a bigger venue next time!
Katie, who is Activities co-ordinator for The Springboard Project, came along to inform our guests about what Springboard has to offer. Both Eileen and I would like to thank Katie for giving up her evening to come along and support us.
May, who owns Jade City, provided us and our invited guests ,with fabulous food, wonderful service and a fantastic venue. Everyone commented on how they had enjoyed everything about the evening. Thank you May, once again from both of us.
A raffle was held on the night. We would like to thank Waitrose, Bearing Gifts Southwater, Scandia-Hus Manufacturing Ltd., Roast, Coco's Hairdressers Southwater and friends and family for donating items for the raffle.
The important bit!
We raised an amazing £980!
May has supported us so well ,by offering dinner especially for our event at a reduced cost. This enabled us to charge above this cost, making a profit for the charity.
We are both elated! Cant wait to arrange the next event! We hope that this will be a Barn Dance. Should be fun. Watch this space.
Thank you so much to all of our friends, family and work colleagues who supported us, either by buying raffle tickets, or by coming along. YOU made this event a success.
